Part 1: Why Batteries Fail                     Part 2: How INOX-mx2 Solves The Problem)

What is Sulfation?

Sulfation is common in batteries that sit for periods of time between uses, such as in secondary vehicles, pleasure boats, motorcycles, off-road vehicles or personal aircraft. Sulfation is the primary cause for battery failure, and is a result of repeated swings from a discharged state to a charged state, overcharging and hot climates.

Sulfation occurs when sulfuric acid or electrolyte breaks down, causing lead sulfur crystals to coat the lead plates inside the acid battery. This interferes with the battery’s ability to convert chemical energy to electricity, weakens the electrolyte solution and lessens the battery’s ability to accept a charge. Sufficiently advanced sulfation will render a battery useless, and can happen in as little as six months to a year.  INOX MX2 dissolves battery killing sulfation!!!

How Much INOX-mx2 Do You Need?

Standard BatteriesUp to 100 AMP Hour Motorbikes Cars, Golf Carts, 4WD, etc.
12 Volt 5 – 10 mls/cell 15 mls/cell
6 Volt 10 – 20 mls/cell 30 mls/cell

TRUCKS, BUSES, MARINE, TRACTOR, ETC.

AMP HRS Voltage Mls/Cell AMP Hrs Voltage Mls/Cell
101 – 150 6 60 101 – 140 12 30
151 – 200 6 90 141 – 180 12 45
201 – 300 6 120 181 – 200 12 60

There is no connection between AMP Hours and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA).  As a general rule of thumb:

  • Batteries 600 CCA or less:    1 AMP Hour equals 6 to 7 CCA
  • Batteries 601 CCA or more:  1 AMP Hour equals 5 CCA

The average battery has enough cell space to take INOX-mx2 without removing any of the electrolyte contents of the battery.  Please ensure that you do not overfill the battery as some frothing can occur when the charging cycle takes place.  This can happen sometimes when INOX-mx2 is first added to a battery.  It does not harm the battery and only lasts for a couple of days at most.

Always add equal amounts of INOX Battery Conditioner to each cell.  If your battery size is not listed above, use 40 mls for every 1 liter of electrolyte.  Your battery’s capacity & AMP hour rating can usually be obtained from your local battery distributor.

Note:  It is advisable to bring the battery up to full charge after adding INOX mx2 Battery Coditioner either by driving or mechanical charger. If INOX Battery Conditioner fails to bring new life to run down but mechanically sound battery, check the voltage regulator, generator, electrical switches and connections to make sure there is no electrical leak or short.

  1. For preventative maintenance or even if the vehicle doesn’t start, check to see if it has caps on top that would allow you to add the battery conditioner and if so, remove or unscrew caps and add the appropriate equal amount of mx2 in each cell.
  2. Make sure water levels are above lead plates after adding mx2 and if they are low, add tap or distilled water to bring it just below the top of the battery.
  3. Put the caps back on.
  4. If the battery was dead or unfunctional before you added the mx2, charge the battery for a minimum of 12 hours or overnight.  If the battery was already charged or new…  you’re done!

CAUTION:  Make sure there is enough head room in each cell when adding INOX Battery Conditioner.  Do not over fill the battery.

WARNING:  A short circuited or mechanically unsound battery cannot be treated effectively with INOX BATTERY CONDITIONER.

Customer Q&A:

Q: Should I use INOX mx2 on my new battery?

A: Yes, absolutely!  It will prolong the life of the new battery by 2 to 3 times standard battery life.  In fact, in numerous instances in the past, batteries that have been treated with INOX mx2 have lasted over 10 years longer.

Q: Will INOX mx2 work on my old battery?

A: Yes, INOX-mx2 will work on your older batteries as long as they are still mechanically sound.  It can be added to a battery at any age, however, the older a battery is, the less effective INOX-mx2 will be.  If an older battery will not hold its charge properly, has recharging problems, or is just generally slow, the addition of INOX-mx2 in 97% of the cases will give the battery an additional new life of up to 2-3 years.  A battery may seem mechanically sound, but could collapse very quickly through some undetected fault in the plates or separators after the addtion of INOX-mx2.  This only accounts for a very small percentage of older batteries treated.  Most solar charging systems have low ampere charge rates, the addition of INOX-mx2 to these batteries is good protection against the build up of sulfation, giving them better long term life.

Q: Where do I pour in the mx2 in the battery?

A: You should remove the caps at the top of the battery and pour in the correct amount where you would normally pour in water into each cell.  If water levels are low, pour in water after adding  in the INOX mx2 additive above the lead plates.

Q: Will INOX-mx2 Battery Conditioner harm the battery?

A: No, INOX-mx2 will NOT harm your battery.  It is purely an agent to help keep the electro-chemical process active longer in lead acid batteries.

Q: Can I put in mx2, then once sulphation breaks loose, can I drain the battery of the “blackness” that results, then add acid back in and also another dose of mx2 after draining it?

A: The sulphation doesn’t break loose, it starts recycling back into plate material and over a short period of time the mx2 will pretty well clean up the inside of the battery. Never drain a battery and put in new acid, it just doesn’t work like that, you will end up changing the whole electro-chemical operating structure of the battery which will usually kill the battery.

Q: How often can I treat a battery with INOX-mx2?

A: You should treat each battery only ONE time. As a catalyst, it will NOT evaporate and will stay in the battery for the life of that battery.
